About ME

Dedicated Advocate

Shannon Primer

Educational Paralegal/Advocate & Disabilities Rights Activist

This website, my blog and my services DO NOT represent legal or medical advice and is just my experience as a parent, advocate and paralegal

About

My youngest son, who is an adult has Autism.  Due to our district denying him services, I became empowered and started my journey on educating myself and others on how to improve, protect, and ensure our rights.

In 2008 I started my own moms’ night out/support group, which is affectionately called the PITAs (pain in the .. parents), because that is what they called parents like me when I was 25 and worked in a special education classroom.

In 2009. I took the USD advocacy class and that led me to interning and working for a special education attorney.

2015 legislation lead me to the Capitol of California and I started my advocacy there, not just in legislation, but also in making our state capitol become ADA compliant.

I am currently working as a Special Education Paralegal/Advocate.  I am a Board Member of a Non-Profit Organization that works with parents to get their children the educational support that they need. We also push for legislation that protects and improves the rights of those with exceptional needs.
